My cat peed on my favorite jeans more than once (they fell behind the washer and apparently he thought that made it his new litterbox) and I cannot for the life of me get the smell out of them.

Any suggestions, besides Febreeze, which absolutely does not work (I've tried it).

Add 1/2 cup borax to the wash and 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar to the rinse. The vinegar smell dissipates as it dries.

Kiss your jeans goodbye because that smell is in there forever. Truthfully, would you really want to wear clothing that someone or something urinated on? Not me!!!

add about half a cup of baking soda to your wash water. It will remove most bad odors.

Have you tried using baking soda…
Or maybe a little bit of borax mixed with warm water and let them sit for a few hours.. But you may want to read and make sure it wont discolor them! But I know Borax was used to clean cloth diapers and get the smell out!
    Hope I helped!

I had this exact same problem when my cat had a bladder infection and he decided my laundry pile was a good place to go.
Like another poster suggested, baking soda is an awesome deodorizer. I would run it through the wash with a baking soda mix and then run in through once more with a vinegar and water wash. Vinegar helps cut through odors and removes any baking soda from the previous wash.
Hanging your jeans to dry in the sun and fresh air will help as well.
    Good luck!
